The Show

Bringing the underground to light.  Each and every GIANTS show is a true showcase of the different talents, different sizes, and different styles of comedy this city holds.  What can you expect? Get to know your GIANTS segments below:

THE CENTERPIECE:

The main course, squeeze, and attraction. An all-new big thinking project from the leading minds in Vancouver comedy.

THE HEAVY HITTERS

Every team needs a ringer. Vancouver has some outstanding established talent and 20 minutes from each show will showcase an existing act in town on the GIANTS stage. Whether it’s a world-class stand up, a proven sketch group, or a wildly popular improv troupe, this segment will bring a powerhouse to the floor every time.

THE WILD ONES

Many of the best comedians in Vancouver operate independently and without a regular show. We will make finding the laughs easy.  We suss out the great acts from around town, and you see their best 5 to 10 minutes on the big stage.  Simple.

NEWS AROUND NOW

Emmett Hall’s one-man absurdist news show has been a highlight of the Vancouver comedy scene since he debuted it at Bronx Cheer’s Hero Show in 2009. For each GIANTS show, Emmett (The Sunday Service, Knights of the Night) will break down the news like it’s never been broken before.

DELICIOUS THINGS WITH NIK BUNTING

Nik Bunting is a chef by day and comedian by night. In typical GIANTS fashion, we bring both of these talents to light. This hero of both the kitchen and the stage will theatrically prepare and offer to the GIANTS audience a unique, and affordable appetizer for each show.  Delicious.  Hilarious.

OPENING/CLOSING NIGHT PARTY

Each GIANTS show is totally unique, so we throw the opening and closing night parties before, during, and after each show with a bar that stays open.

Hey, we get it, it’s Saturday night! You want to be out with your arson friends enjoying you one chance to literally set the town on fire. So here’s the deal: come to the show, laugh your face off, and enjoy cheap pints courtesy of Whistler Brewing, and you’ll still have time to light it up.
