Elaboration II: The Revenge of Elaboration: I heard about a lead writing job for the GIANTS site. That’s the problem — I heard it.
I thought it was a lead writing job for “JIANts,” which I naturally assumed to be a Jian Ghomeshi toddler fan club — sort of a “Jian’s Tots” sort of thing. This was an idea I really saw myself getting behind. Who wouldn’t jump at the opportunity to spread the gospel of CBC Radio One’s sideburned franchise and 2-3rd best Moxy Früvous drummer of all time for a living?
So I masqueraded as GhomeshiGurl, Jian Ghomeshi’s #1 13-year-old girl fan, sacrificing my real name, age and gender to solidify the role—an undoubtedly pleasant bonus. I signed the papers, called my parents to let them know I’ve made it, and that’s when the soulless monsters at GIANTS decided to inform me I shouldn’t accept job positions without reading contracts or asking any sort of follow-up questions.
